Subj: Vandoren mouthpiece

I gave the new mouthpiece setup a good play last night (Vandoren Jumbo Java T55 and Optimum ligature). What a difference. It feels like a whole new instrument. I was expecting it to be powerful, with that baffle it had to be, but what I wasn't expecting so much was the increased ability to play quietly and lyrically as well..... I thought it might be a bit of a monster, but it is just SO much better at everything. I seem to have much more stable breath control with it, and can keep long notes much more even. Thanks!.... one more happy customer!
Best regards, Stewart Milton

Subj: Vandoren mouthpieces
Hi guys, It was great to come to the showrooms a few weeks ago and meet you 'web-celebs' in person! Thanks Jim for your informed assistance. Just writing to give some feedback on the Vandoren java T75 which I bought for my tenor. I have now gig tested it on a couple of big band gigs as well as in a small group setting. I have to say that I am very happy with it indeed. The sound is nice and full with just the right amount of edge. The most surprising thing, given that it is a fairly open mouthpiece is how easily it speaks, even on low notes which are very rich and fruity. There is great control over a very wide dynamic range and I was very pleasantly surprised at how much volume it can produce when required. Coupled with the bronze neck which I am using on my 901 I am finding much greater ease of expression with lots of detail coming through. All in all excellent especially considering that I tried it against some great metal mouthpieces and still prefered it to them.

Loved the showrooms. Photographs really don't do some of those saxes justice. I thought that the finish on the Matte Selmers was especially stunning.

Keep up the good work, regards, Mark Page
