Subject: My new saxophone
Hi sax.co.uk, just a quick note to say the sax was ordered Thursday and arrived as promised on Friday just in time for my saxophone quartet's performance one the weekend (see enclosed photos). I must say the Yanagisawa curved soprano 991 plays lovely, the key work is fast and the intonation is spot on, having a  jazz saxophone performance diploma I'm fussy when it comes to saxes and this one has exceeded my expectations.
Thanks again! Best wishes, Andrew Kerensky FRSA, DipLCM.

Wow! This is a different experience from my Mk6. The sound is huge and at last I can play the bell notes without special contortions of the embouchure. Very exciting. I keep trying to put it down for a minute ........ looking for the "cry" .......... it's in there, I've heard it. 40 years on the same horn makes this quite a new and delightful thing. First impressions: excellent, and getting better as we get to know each other. Many thanks to you all, all the way back to the factory - and the guys out east who bothered to find out how to produce this miraculous horn! Regards, Robin (Jersy)

Wow...First, this is  by far the most beautiful sax I saw - abalone keys, vintage lacquer and beautiful hand engravings make this sax something to be respected before a note has been played And each note just...plays! There's so much warmth in the tone and so much character - this sax will suit all styles and all types of players. I tried Selmers, Yanagisawas, Yamaha Customs and even some Rampone Cazzari's but the 67R outdid them all! Fantastic service guys - I was expecting a few days till delivery cos I know how hard you work but it was in my hands just over a day later than I ordered it! Thanks so much for a great day trying saxes and amazingly fast delivery :D Hands down the greatest instrument sellers! Sax.co.uk - it really is the Saxophone temple!  Joe Atkin-Reeves

I received the Guardala King mpc yesterday. Easily the best alto piece I have ever blown. I didn’t need the ‘chops adapt’ period either, it was just straight in there. The dynamic range is great. It is really effective at a ‘fat n’ funky’ Maceo Parker type sound. The attack is like a slap in the face, really crisp and powerful. Thanks, Mike Owen

It's amazing the the difference doing a gig with a set up you feels so confident in can make to your playing and enjoyment. I have to say Jules did suggested a Berg ebonite to me last year, but You know what it's like, we have to take our own route to get to the same out come. Your advice Jim, regarding both the Lawton and the Berg has been invaluable, and the service from Saxophones.co.uk has as usual been first rate, always a friendly voice and good advice who ever answers the phone. Subject: A Big thank you - TJJ Rev II Tenor & Audio Technica ATM350CW Mic
I would just like to say thank you for delivering my TJJ Rev II Tenor so quickly last September, I decided last minute to treat myself for my birthday, and low and behold it arrived the next day (on my Birthday) I could not have been happier J I hadn’t played for a while and when the tone of the Sax went muffled I called for advice, the chap I spoke to was most helpful, and as it turned out it was that my embouchure had strengthened quicker than I had anticipated and I needed a stronger reed. I then ordered an Audio Technica ATM350CW Mic with ATW701 UHF Diversity Wireless system last week, again, your service could not have been better. It arrived the next day and the guys I play with were astounded by the improvement in sound, previously I had been using a vocal mic pointed downwards. I will certainly be using and  recommending (I have already) Sax.uk. Looking forward to doing business with you again, it’s not often you can say that these days. Thank you again, Simon (Wheezy) Lee

Hi Guys, I'd just like to express my gratitude for all the help you have given me over the last few months with your recommendations and expert opinion on the Tenor Saxophones I was thinking of upgrading to from my TJ "The Horn" Revolution II. I have fairly deluged you with emails about virtually all the makes and models you carry and have found your responses both prompt and full of excellent advice. I finally visited you today and was really impressed with the service and the fact that you gave me all the models from my wish list to try and let me practice with them at my own speed. For the sound I wanted there was only one winner which was the P Mauriat PMXT 66R which matched exactly the reviews you carry on your web site. So a big thanks to you all and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend your services to anyone who is really serious about Saxophones. Please feel free to use this on your web site if you would like to. I just wanted to say a big thank you for all your help and advice.  I received my lovely 992 last week and I absolutely love it.  Unfortunately, it hasn't turned me into the saxophone maestro I wish to be but I think it has improved my playing due to a number of improvements (not least being the better positioning of certain keys) and the tone is certainly much better. My tutor agrees and was very envious of it after I let him have a go. Many thanks, Sharon Skipper

On Friday afternoon I spoke to Phil about mouthpieces. In short I was having major difficulties with a Dave Guardala Superking which I bought without taking any advice. Phil spent some time talking through my playing and needs before making a recommendation. I followed his advice and made an order.  The metal Yanagisawa mouthpiece was delivered the following morning and I have had a fine time this weekend. What a remarkable difference.  Please thank Phil for his time and expertise. I should have spoken to him before I made the initial purchase. Once again the Saxophone.co.uk experience has been a positive one. Regards, Chris Appleyard

I also just got the Beechler 7 I ordered for tenor in the post this morning from having ordered only yesterday. It is just perfect. Once again you guys excelled yourselves. Having received good advice and excellent service in purchasing my first sax earlier this year I took my Tutor’s advice and decided to buy a new mouthpiece. I have been wanting to try them out but most shops won’t allow it because of ‘hygiene’. Sax.co.uk said it was no problem at all. So I travelled from Gloucestershire to Crowborough and arrived 10 minutes before closing. Unlike other places this was not a problem and the store remained open for over 30 minutes more whilst I tried the products and made my decision. Nice to see that customer service still exists in this country and next time I will arrive early so I can browse and enjoy the store (and definitely spend a whole load more). Many thanks to your staff and (on this occasion Jim). Nothing is ever too much trouble and I appreciate all your patience and help. Please feel free to quote from this as part of your testimonials. You guys deserve it. Tony (novice Saxophonist…but getting there).

Hello, I ordered a Black Selmer Baritone sax from you on 13th Aug. I would just like to say how impressed I am with the help and service that I received from you. The advice you gave me over the phone was really helpful and not in the least pushy. When I had chosen the sax you even deducted the price of the mouthpiece as I didn't need one and found me a cheaper (but just as sturdy) case for the instrument. It would have been just as easy for you to have charged me top whack for everything, I really appreciate it. The sax itself looks fabulous and the difference it has made to my playing is unbelievable. Although it is undoubtedly the most expensive item I will ever buy (that hasn't got wheels or a front door) I believe that it is worth every penny. Once again thank you very much and I look forward to spending more money with you. Paul Denniss

I started renting Trevor James Classic Sax-Pack from you in November 2005 which I later purchased.  I had never played a musical instrument before and couldn't read music.  A friend has helped me learn to not only play the Sax but also to read music and on July 7th at the age of 31 I sat and passed the ABRSM Grade 3 Alto Saxophone exam.  If it hadn't been for the excellent service you provide with your Sax-Packs I probably would never have even tried to learn the Saxophone.  Thank you for making it so easy for me to start as I have had many hours of enjoyment playing my Saxophone and the sense of achievement in passing my first ever music exam (with a Distinction - 137 out of 150). Well, if you guys were looking to impress, you've done it again. As you know, I was a little worried in case this mpc was too much for my level but it is exactly what I wanted and exactly as you described it. I got a fantastic tone "right out of the box". It was real easy to go right down to low B flat and the few Altissimo notes I've tried popped right out. I put a Vandoren jaZZ 2.0 reed on first off to try it and had to push that a bit more over the tip than I would usually (not excessively) and will now spend a bit of time trying other reeds/strengths. So, thanks again. With this and the new Vandoren metal T75 I just bought for my tenor from you, I feel like I'm well and truly "sorted". Cheers Dougie

Subject: Mauriat Saxello and new crook for alto
Just a quick note to say a big thank you again for your brilliant service. The new crook for my Mauriat alto makes such a different - a nice edge, more projection and it seems faster somehow - don't know how that works but there you go. Pretty amazing as it looks just like the old one from the outside! My Meyer G mouthpiece is phenomenal on it. Mauriats seem to like Meyer mouthpieces but they all sound good actually - just like on the tenor. The saxello is just amazing, it really is - I'm running out of superlatives already! No, seriously, I've had a problem with sopranos (Yanagisawa and Selmer) - two things - intonation in the upper register and that horrible nasal, oboe sound in the lower register. This does it on both counts and Iam very impressed at this price. Intonation is effortless, I have never sounded so good - and the sound is saxophone all the way - not a hint of the dreaded oboe blues! Key work is just wonderful and sits under the fingers really well - feels very comfortable - smaller somehow or maybe just more accessible. Thanks again, I am very grateful. Say a big thank you to Jules for the chat on the phone about this lovely instrument. Your service and advice are second to none. Kind regards, Ken

Subject: Yamaha YAS62
The Yamaha YAS 62 Alto I ordered from you on Monday arrived the following day. Many thanks for your fast service and help. My son’s music teacher did a double take when she saw the sax and was astonished by the price; she had recently bought a YAS 475 for her son for £875 and thought she cut a great deal. In our local music shop, the YAS 475 is on special offer. At £1,275. More importantly, the YAS 62 sounds just fantastic. My son has astonished me with his abilities to make the ‘horn’ sing. He is only 11, but he just plays it. His few weeks on a YAS 23, with a ‘not right for a young mouth’ metal Brancher on it,  has paid off. A 4C mouthpiece is, he says, much easier to control and less tiring. But the Brancher is greased and ready to swap when he wants to make a ‘jazzier’ sound. Indulgent parents make me sick, but I believe a good teacher and a great instrument are the best ways to get a child started. Grade 4 clarinet in the summer and, to my surprise, straight in for Grade 3 sax. If he keeps playing in 20 years time, I know he will still have a great sax in the YAS 62. So that makes it a real bargain in my book. As to the YAS 23, that is now mine and I love it. No F# key, but it will be a long time before I can play anything that needs to go that high! Thanks and best wishes, James de Havilland

Hello there! Just a quick line to say thanks for the advice you gave me a couple of weeks back regarding dropping from middle register D to G in the lower register. I've been practising, following your advice, and I can now manage to slur the whole sequence from D to C to D to B to C to A to D to G. It's very kind of you to offer customers assistance of this sort and it is greatly appreciated. Thanks also for digging out a green Neotech strap out for me (a very nice colour!). This is a great product! What it says on the website is absolutely true: it really does make the sax feel 50% lighter!! It also provides, for me at any rate, a much more stable platform for the instrument, which is a great help for novices such as myself. In closing, may I say that I was most impressed by the next day delivery too! You're a class outfit! Best regards.Phil Burkett

It is very rare to find a company that is genuinely caring and passionate about the products they sell and the customer, this I have found in Sax.co.uk. Thank you all for your speedy reaction to a very difficult request and for helping my wife to make this occasion very special. Tom Shipp

Subject: Sax Hire Scheme
Hi there. I've just renewed my hire tenure for my tenor sax, and I'm writing to say what a great idea I think it is. I thought that, having left school, I wouldn't get the chance to learn to play an instrument unless I bought one outright. I stumbled across your website quite by accident, but what a happy accident it turned out to be! I think everyone should have the opportunity to learn to play, and giving someone the gift of music is one of the most wonderful things anyone can do. I've wanted to play the sax ever since I heard Dave Brubek's Take 5 when I was about 7 years old, but sadly never got the chance in school. Thank you so much for the opportunity. I absolutely love it and intend to buy asap! Lisa Scully

Hi, well it arrived yesterday and its terrific. The service cannot be faulted. I also received a copy of your latest catalogue today, I wasn't aware that there was so much choice and the information inside with regard to the various accessories etc is extremely helpful. I now need to acquire some other bits and pieces from you it seems. Learning to play the saxophone is something I have dreamed about for a very long time and now I have my chance. Many, many thanks. My sax arrived on Tuesday in perfect condition - excellent service! As for the sax itself, it's even more beautiful than I'd anticipated. Not only does it look like a work of art, it plays like one. The tone is superb and it's incredibly easy to move around the keys. My Lawton mouth piece (which I've also had for 26 years) works really well with it sound wise and I couldn't be happier. I've lusted after a top class Yanagisawa for quite a while and now I've got one it's even better than I imagined - just have to pay off the loan now (but it's worth it!!) Just a short note to say thank you for all the help and advise you gave me on the 17th when I visited the new showroom to buy a new mouthpiece for the surprise present my wife had bought for me namely, the TJ Limited Edition alto. The Selmer Super Session matched with the Rico Royal reeds has really produced the sound I wanted, rounded but with a bit of edge if pushed. Jim's selection was right on the button and saved me hours of experimentation. Also, many congratulations on the new showroom - quite fantastic and I would heartily recommend anyone with the slightest interest in the sax to visit. Friendly and helpful advise combined with that mouth watering display is a sure winner. I will be sure to visit in the not too distant future. With every good wish for the future. Regards, James

"Just wanted to say thanks for all your help. The new TJJ Custom Signature Alto Saxophone is an amazing instrument. I had a gig last week and gave it a thorough workout. It has a beautiful rich sound especially in the low register and the harder or softer I blow the more it responds. For me it's a front runner in tone and over all performance. Thanks again. You can use my comments on your website. We had our biggest gig of the year on Saturday evening and it went well - my mate played the TJ while i played bari and it sounded so much nicer than his old one, got him hooked and then a mate came over after who was looking for a replacement for his Horn Revolution - he's tried loads of different saxes but never got on with them, he loved this one though! Subject: Another testimonial...

My friend and I travelled down to East Sussex to your shop on Saturday 8th October, 2005. I wanted to buy either a professional alto or a tenor sax. Given your extensive range, I wanted to try out as many as possible within my price range.

When we arrived we were met by Jim Cheek. We were made to feel incredibly welcome. Jim could not do enough for us… He allowed me to try out several different models in one of the two music rooms available in the shop. Jim offered expert advice and discussed my requirements with me thoroughly. He gave me ample opportunity to make a decision… he was always available to answer queries but was not at all ‘pushy’. In the end I settled for a Custom Yamaha YAS82-Z with black lacquer. I am thrilled with this!

Sadly it is all too rare to come across good service in Britain these days. So it was a pleasure to receive absolutely first class service from www.saxophones.co.uk. I cannot recommend this company highly enough! It was an extremely long journey to East Sussex from Birmingham, where I live, but it was completely worth the effort. Rest assured that after my experience today, I would not consider going anywhere else for my sax requirements!

Many thanks and please pass on my special thanks to Jim for his kindness and superb attention. Best wishes, Dr. Brian Levy

Just a quick message of thanks.. Received my Trevor James Classic sax today. As I mentioned I have been playing the clarinet for 2 years, from scratch at the age of 44 with no prior musical background. You're advice was spot on. First blow I got a note, then got a bit fed up because I couldn't blow the low notes so I left it a couple of hours.. Then got going again like a speed train. Low notes came, high notes sounded great. Within an hour I was playing most of my clarinet music. The fingering is so much easier, and no over the break. The sax looks and plays excellent. I just wanted to thank you for the superp service you provided me when I bought my Earlham tenor sax last Nov/Dec. I desperately needed a new tenor as I was coming up to performing at a college panto and my original
tenor, which I bought second hand, turned out to be dodgy and had a habit of refusing to play more than 4 notes at crucial moments. I ordered the Earlham as it was cheap in comparison to most tenors on the market, certainly cheaper than my local music shop- despite the cheaper price I was pleased to find that the quality of the sax is outstanding and just as good as more expensive models. I just did my grade 6 on it and have had  no problems with it. The delivery of the sax was brilliant- I ordered it a week or so before the gig and thought that I'd be lucky if it arrived a week after the gig so when it arrived the day after I ordered I was very impressed. The case it came in is brilliant and a lot lighter than my old case, which is just as well because I have to lug it on and off buses and around town. This sax would suit beginners as well as professional players and it's also good for all sorts of styles from classical/grade work to wild improv. jazz solos. It's easy to play and has a great tone, I hope you keep up the fantastic service, Thanks Katherine Horrex

Just thought I would drop you a line to say how absolutely delighted with the Trevor James Alto Horn I have just rented from you. I was one of the idiots who bought a cheap Chinese import from ebay, and cannot believe the difference in quality, my playing sounds so much better, the instrument is lighter and easier to handle, the keys are freer, lighter to press, and the tone is totally different.  The Chinese import I bought, (not knowing much about saxophones) may look like a saxophone, but the comparison ends there! Thank you so much for the excellent service you offer, it has made playing a beautiful instrument like the saxophone affordable for those on a budget. Many thanks, Linda Fricker.

Let me say that your service is just great. Whether it is by mail, email or phone. Long may it continue. Thanks for advising me about the delivery. You may need to know that I am no expert. I bought a T James sax following it being given to me as a present after a 3 month hiring. So, although I have ordered a 6 I don't really know what it means other than it is mid range, so if you think another is better then send it. I just know that in the early days with the student mouthpiece, I knew no better. But after 3 months of practice I realise how key the mouthpiece is to technique and that I need something different. I played a violin as an 11 year old. Got fed up and never went musical until now. I'm 50 years old and I can't put the sax down!

I used a number 2 Vandoren with the number 6 Bari Gold mouthpiece on my Michael White soprano sax. Produces a very direct and loud sound, very noticeable with the progression of volume over previous mouthpieces including a Vandoren s35. Once the mouthpiece warms up you can articulate a lot of reverb out which is what I want when playing blues notes. The SX1 Microphone I know is a low end mic but it does the job. Fits on nice and easy and is easy to transport. As for being satisfied with the products and service I've received. I couldn't ask for more.. This email is to thank you all for your part in the sale of these saxes, Phil for his time and advice, the person that packs the goods, the person that cleans and tunes the instruments, and so on. the only person I cannot thank is the one that does the Debit Card transactions, I thought they were all free!

Your quality of service is excellent; you deserve every success with your business.

It is unusual these days to find good service or even a please and thank you. This doesn’t matter so much in the supermarket or garage forecourt, this is because buying fuel or doing the weekly shopping isn’t a lifelong dream so if you get treated badly what the hell. My point is, when I contacted you 6 weeks ago and asked some probably dumb questions you were patient and polite, and informed me well but were not pushy in any way, this has led to what is probably the most frustrating and rewarding experience I have ever had. My dream of being a competent sax player one day is still in tact and this is mainly due to your initial attitude towards me. Bubbles can be so easily burst by some git with a bad attitude.

I am practicing 1½ to 2 hours a day at the moment so hopefully another 3 months or so and I can come and visit you all and you can hopefully fit me with a new mouthpiece for each sax. That will be the most you’ll be able to sell me for a while, wife’s stolen or hidden my cards, (Phil had some idea about me not having a Baritone Yet!) Naughty Phil said Elaine(wife) as she picked up her Brand New Gold Lacquer Dave Guardala Alto, “with flowers on”.!!!!

Please feel free to use any part of this email or photo etc on your website should you wish to. Thanks again folks, Kindest Regards, Shaun & Elaine Pryde

Just wanted to say that it has been 1 year since I purchased my sax from you and I have been having lessons for almost 1 year. Have just effectively passed my Grade 1 and am taking Grade 2 in March 2005. I want to thank you for your help and advice when I first purchased it and your prompt service for all the products I have purchased from you throughout this year. I order online late in the afternoon and it arrives next morning in first post (only post nowadays).- Brilliant!. I'm selling you to my Sax teacher slowly. Its nice to have a company that gives good service as there aren't many of you around these days. Good wishes to you all. Anne Lee

ust a few lines to thank you. More traders like you needed in this world. Arrived home and could not wait to try the new Yamaha YTS 875 II. It is just sheer glory. Although I’m a beginner, I could immediately get the lower notes out with ease, and the higher notes now come in rich and crisp. What a difference, it makes me feel like a virtuoso. The new mouthpiece fits me a lot better too. Your help is truly appreciated, and I could not be happier. I look forward to a long business relationship, and I will have no hesitation recommending you to any future costumers. Many Thanks. Kind regards, Ivan Garcia

Just wanted to drop a short note of thanks for the quality of service that I received on Friday last. I have been looking to purchase a David Guardala Tenor Mouthpiece for a little while now and was struggling to find one. Not only did you have what I wanted in stock, but it arrived the very next day at 9am. Gigged with it for the first time last night. Wow! what a difference. Thank you for taking the time to talk to me about the M/P it really helped me make my mind up. Just got to get a decent lig for it now and I’ll be sorted. Thanks again, I would definitely recommend you to anyone. Andrew Davey

Great service, all arrived safely within 24 hours. Great saxophone too, and it looks beautiful. Even more of a revelation was the Crescent mouthpiece, which lives up to all you said about it. I had been worried about the rather open lay but it turns out to be significantly easier to play than my Lawton 6. I don't fully understand why but also don't intend to spend any time worrying about it, as it plays so well. It really is like having a new sax. Best wishes, Tony

Subject: New Keilwerth Shadow Tenor Sax
Sorry for not writing earlier. I was busy playing the sax in my spare time. This Sax ROCKS!!! It looks great and it plays even better. The sound is super! Just what I wanted, warm but modern. I actually do believe that a tone is coming out before I even breath out. The action is great, too. Finally Keilwerth sorted their handling out. Great horn. Oh by the way, to say that it is just black doesn't do the horn right. It does still catch the light nicely but is quite elusive at the same time; it's a Shadow! The thought that I am amongst (or maybe even am) the first lucky owner(s) in Britain makes this very special horn even better. The wait was well worth it. Thank you very much for getting this Sax for me. If one of your customers wonder what I am raving on about, send them over to Guernsey. I'll show them what I mean. Thanks again. One happy very happy customer. Kind regards, Klaus

P.S. If somebody has questions about it - don't hesitate to use me as a reference; I'll tell them what a horn that is. And if you looking out for refs for this horn on your web-page; it would be an honour to be the first one.

Hello to everyone at saxophones.co.uk, I would just like to say a big thank you for your quick and excellent delivery of my 2 sets of Otto Link 5 Ebonite Mouthpiece with ligature, reeds and Mouthpiece patches. These sets are great and I have just realized how much my playing the saxophone has just taken a great leap forward compared to the original mouthpiece which was provided with the sax when I bought it. This set up should be standard with all saxophones when bought. I would recommend it to all beginners who think that there playing is not progressing. This little package will put so much more confidence in their playing and get instant results. Once again, thank you so much for your service. I will be back for more. Best regards Richard King

Dear Phil (actually, all of you!), I'd like to thank you for the opportunity to visit your shop this weekend. I came away quite stunned!  While it is great having the freedom to try whatever saxes I wanted, the most impressive thing is the friendly service and advice.  It makes a welcome change from the norm that exists in London! I look forward to visiting again sometime (and who knows, maybe after a few visits, I'll walk out with a new sax!). Thanks again, Neil Clayton

Dear people at Saxophones.co.uk, It is not often that I get the chance to praise someone for offering an excellent service. Three months ago I hired a Trevor James tenor sax pack from you which I have since decided to purchase.
In the mean time I have also ordered other items from you, most recently the Eddie Daniels Rovner ligature. I would like to thank you very much for the extremely prompt and reliable service you have maintained. The speed of your responses has been extremely impressive. Your web site is also very impressive. Easy to use with much useful information. I look forward to making further purchases for all my sax requirements from you in the future. Once again a big well done. Regards Yusuf Zaid Carr-Rickwood

Subject: A big thank-you for my saxophone.
I would just like to say a big thank you and well done for my new Silver plated Trevor James Classic Tenor saxophone, which I received two days ago, and haven't been able to tear myself away from.  I would be happy for you to use this mail as a reference for three things - Firstly the quality of the service I received when making my enquiries on the telephone was exceptional. All my questions were answered fully and honestly, without any attempts at trying to push me in a particular direction. I particularly appreciated being given useful information that I wouldn't have known to ask, which ultimately helped me make up my mind.  Secondly, the speed of the service has to be seen to be believed. My order was processed on Monday, the saxophone arrived first thing tuesday morning. Speedy.  Thirdly, the saxophone itself. It is absolutely beautiful and sounds really nice. I opened the case and there it was looking SO good. I normally play the alto sax, and this is my first tenor. It is a wonderful instrument, full sounding, clear and highly responsive. For anyone who is looking for a good starting point on the tenor saxophone or a doubling instrument (as I am using it) at a reasonable price, I would highly recommend the Trevor James  Silver Plated Classic.  Once again, cheers, A Ojo

Just to say thanks for the inspired advice yesterday! I know I came in wanting an ebonite mouthpiece, but the Guardala just felt right straight away. The lighter reed makes a big difference as well. I had a good blow at rehearsal last night, and it was brilliant. Thanks again, Simon Hingley

I just wanted to say a big thank you for all the really helpful advice you gave when I enquired about information on amps & mics for saxophones. The advice you gave was spot on. As a result I purchased a Laney CP12 P.A. amp with 12" speaker from a local store in Birmingham and then bought the Yamaha ST5 with mic from yourselves. The whole set up is great and I love the sound effects from the ST5.  All in all an extremely happy customer. Hi, I never write to companies to applaud them - if I've paid for something I expect it to do what it says on the tin - but I have to say your recommendation was spot on!  I phoned an order in at 13:20 yesterday and the mouthpiece arrived at 07:20 this morning!  I've just given it a good workout - first impression was good, even better when I put the lig on the right way round (duh), and when I put my Rovner Dark lig on, it just took off. Sounds great, intonation superb, easy to play in all registers and hardly any fatigue. Really flatters the sax and my playing - so much closer to the sound in my head that I am kicking myself for not changing before.  The best £85 I've spent in ages! So, thanks a million! Very best regards, Steve

Subject: SX90R - this year's shopping spree
Hi there,
My sax arrived safe and sound here in Guernsey punctually on Thursday. What a horn that is!! Fantastic!! Everything else was just fine, too. The Meyer mouthpieces work wonderfully on both my horns and the ligature really sorted my tone out. Never thought what impact such a little piece of equipment has. The Rovner Eddie Daniels is most definitely recommended. Although my journey to your shop involves flying and an hour driving (which is like an eternity when you come from Guernsey) it is worth the effort. Not only is East Sussex beautiful, your shop is HEAVEN!! Thanks for enduring my painful three-hour-long playing so patiently and still offering a drink. The plan is to buy a soprano next year - so, I'll be back! ...or actually, I really did like that Reference 36, too....Keep up the good work and thank you very much again for your great service. Kind Regards, Klaus

Over the moon customer

Thank you for all your help recently with the problem I had with my student alto saxophone. Your service and speed at dealing with this matter has been excellent. Having  spoken to Phil and Jim ,who have given me clear and honest advice. I have chosen to upgrade to a better sax. I only started sax 6 months ago ,not knowing anything about music. It's the best thing I've ever done. My student sax has given me the affordable start i needed. I ordered my new Yamaha 62 alto from you at noon on Thursday and it was delivered by 10am Friday. It's beautiful ,I was keen to play before but now i can't put it down. Even with my limited ability it sounds so smooth and fluid and the keywork is so light and responsive, what a huge improvement on my old sax. I would recommend your firm to anyone, You have really proved yourselves to be totally upfront in helping the customer make all the right choices. Once again thank you, Mr S Calver.
