Berg Larsen Mouthpieces

A selection of tip openings are available (the gap between the tip of the reed and the mouthpiece. Also called the 'lay').

Different tone chambers available: Brilliant(0), bright(1) & round(2). My personal favourite is the round (2) tone chamber. As a general rule if you want a big sound get a metal mouthpiece. The larger tip openings will be louder but harder to blow so if you are stepping up from a beginners mouthpiece go a medium close or medium tip opening.

Black Ebonite. This is where it all started! Berg Larsen's first mouthpieces were manufactured from black ebonite (hard rubber) which is the traditional material for mouthpieces.

Berg Larsen Grained Ebonite. A warm tone and generally round sound made from superior grade ebonite with a classy grained finish.

Berg Larsen Bronze. Produced using the latest casting techniques, bronze is widely used throughout the music industry for its resonate qualities. These highly
polished mouthpieces are particularly resistant to tarnishing and are extremely hard wearing. The insert is made from grained ebonite

Berg Larsen Bullet. Specifically designed for live and studio performances, its free blowing qualities give both volume (a lot!) and edge. If you need a BIG sound, then this is the one. Available in stainless steel or bronze.

A classic - reintroduced for those musicians who want a retro feel of days gone by.

Just a quick, slightly belated email to say I got my Berg grained ebonite and am really pleased with it's performance. It's matches up great with my beautiful 1936 conn M10. It's amazing the the difference doing a gig with a set up you feels so confident in can make to your playing and enjoyment. I have to say Jules did suggested a Berg ebonite to me last year, but You know what it's like, we have to take our own route to get to the same out come. Your advice Jim, regarding both the Lawton and the Berg has been invaluable, and the service from Saxophones.co.uk has as usual been first rate, always a friendly voice and good advice who ever answers the phone. Just a quick note to let you know how pleased we were with the service you provided. The berg larsen mouth piece is working well with my bari, thanks for the good advice, We will be telling everyone we know how good you are, your service, advice, the set up at the shop, there's nowhere like it for many a mile. it was worth the hour and a half drive, however we think you should change the name to TOY'S R US.
