Ebonite
alto models
Hand cut from top quality German ebonite to reproduce the tone &
response of the much sought after vintage Meyer mouthpieces. Nice soft
undertone with a massive amount of power when pushed. Enough to compete with
most metal mouthpieces. The greatest dynamic range of any we've tested and
our favourite ebonite model.
The SR Alto Legend and L-85 mouthpieces are based on the design of classic
"New York" mouthpieces. The "Legends" are identical except for tip opening.
The Legend tip opening is .078 inches and the L-85 tip opening is
.085inches. The Titan has a .076 inch lay with a slightly raised baffle for
faster response & brighter sound.
Soprano
Mouthpieces
Patterned
after classic French mouthpieces. Low baffle, large chamber, round throat
and wide window produce a warm, flexible tone sustainable from pianissimo to
fortissimo in all registers. Available in both polycarbonate and gold plated
brass.
Medium baffle with a square
chamber blended into a round throat provide the power needed for
contemporary music while retaining a warm core sound and flawless
intonation.
Available in gold plated brass.
Alto Mouthpieces
The
SR Alto Professional is modelled after the SR Tenor Professional, and has a
.085 inches tip opening. With a moderate baffle and medium chamber the SR
Alto Professional combines a strong altissimo with a warm core sound. This
mouthpiece is suitable for a range of styles that reaches from Johnny Hodges
to David Sanborn. Computer machined from solid brass and gold plated,
complete with Rovner Ligature and Cap.
 The
SR Alto Legend and L-85 mouthpieces are based on the design of classic "New
York" mouthpieces. The "Legends" are identical except for tip opening. The
Legend tip opening is .078 inches and the L-85 tip opening is .085 inches.
Computer machined from Zelux-M, a polycarbonate resin which is similar to
the material used in bullet proof windows, they are virtually unbreakable.
The Legends are extremely versatile mouthpieces, good for jazz, lead alto
and "legit" work. The SR Alto Legend and L-85, complete with Rovner Ligature
and Cap.
"We
came across these mouthpieces through the recommendation of professional
players. I wasn't sure how the
polycarbonate resin
material would effect to overall tone. My previous experiences of plastic
based materials have been disappointing. But what a sound! Bright, edgy but still with a great
rich tonal core; it is
incredibly free blowing and responsive. My personal favourite is the L-85,
the slightly larger tip opening gave helped create more body to the tone.
Plus if you get caught by some trigger-happy trombone players, it doubles as a small bullet proof vest!
But seriously it is great for funk and lead work, bring it on Maceo Parker!"

Tenor Mouthpieces
SR
Technologies Legend Tenor Mouthpiece
The SR Technologies German Hard
Rubber Tenor Legend mouthpiece is the newest addition to the SR line. The
culmination of 10 years of product development, prototyping and evaluation,
it completes the triumvirate of Legend German Hard Rubber models for
soprano, alto, and tenor saxophone. Darker than the Europa, it features our
own proprietary tip, rails, table, facing, baffle, chamber and throat. With
the great resurgence today of hard rubber mouthpieces, it is perfect for
those seeking vintage New York and Florida type mouthpieces, with
unsurpassed intonation, response tonal complexity and colour, harmonics, and
subtone. The SR Legend Hard Rubber tenor mouthpiece has none of the
tubbiness and stuffiness traditionally associated with vintage mouthpieces.
Supplied complete with Rovner ligature and cap.
"Another classy addition to
the SR Tech mouthpiece range. The Legend is a good 'jazzers' mouthpiece with
a medium baffle and fairly large chamber, offering a big and open lower
register sound while retaining a nice centred semi-dark tone throughout the
rest of the range. It is similar in tone and response to the Europa
mouthpiece but with a little more emphasis on the bass frequencies around
the lower end of the sax. The tip opening is set up at 106 thousandths of an
inch (or 7*) which is fairly regular for most jazz tenor sax players'
needs." Jim@sax.co.uk
SR
Technologies Europa Tenor Mouthpiece
The
SR Technologies
Tenor Europa Hard Rubber is our
newest Model. Fashioned from the finest German hard rubber, the Europa is a
modern tenor classic, with a more slender profile, for those players who
desire hard rubber.
The tip opening is .106 inches, We merged the baffle of our Tenor Pro with
the round chamber of our Tenor Titan, to create an entirely new model,
flexible for most styles of music, without the stuffiness or tubbiness
traditionally associated with hard rubber mouthpieces. The response and
tonal colours are unsurpassed.
"This
new ebonite model from SR Technologies should satisfy the needs of many
tenor players. So often I hear comments like, ‘I’m looking for something
with the sound of an Otto Link, but without the stuffiness and with a bit
more projection’. Well I think that the Europa model does exactly
that. Why it’s called the Europa, I don’t know! Is there a particular
sound that is thought of as European? Whatever the answer is, this
mouthpiece provides a warm, vintage sound but with less resistance than a
Link. It also feels like it has more clarity and ease of top note
production. It has a very large, rounded chamber, which must be responsible
for producing that vintage sound, and a medium grade baffle, giving that
added clarity. This is a must-try mouthpiece for those tenor players
looking to maintain the warmth of tone but increase their projection.
The Europa model comes
equipped with a Rovner cap and ligature."

SR Metal Tenor Mouthpieces
all share the same facing and tip opening of 0.108 inches. They differ in
their
interior dimensions, the amount of baffle and size of chamber. SR Tenor Sax
Mouthpieces, computer
machined from solid brass and gold-plated, complete with Rovner Ligature and
Cap.

The Tenor Fusion and Fusion 115 are identical
except for tip opening. The Fusion tip opening is .108 inches and the Fusion
115 is .115 inches. With their high baffle and large throat the Tenor Fusion
mouthpieces provide the superb altissimo, responsive lows required by
contemporary players.

The
Tenor Pro and Pro 115 are identical except for tip opening. The Pro tip
opening is .108 inches and the Pro 115 is .115 inches. With their moderate
baffle and medium chamber these mouthpieces are very versatile and ideal for
a wide range of styles.
"This is one heck of
mouthpiece range. The Pro model is just so responsive, instantly free
blowing and has so much volume, absolutely amazing! I got a big, full and
punchy sound, which is much like a Studio Guardala; loads of juice. The
Fusion has a great edge to it, but unlike many high baffle mouthpieces it is
still has loads of body. These are
all-round great modern professional mouthpieces."
