20R1
Alto. Standard specification:
Optional Extras:
Supplied with hard case. This is a refined sax with
class and more than a little Italian style to it. The
24 carat gold plating gives an unparalleled rich shine which makes gold lacquer
saxes look positively dull by comparison and I love the unique floral hand
chiselled decoration. The action is well balanced with nicely cupped pearls. The
keys fit the fingers easily and it's responsive, solid and defined. It has a
fluid feel and I found I could move effortlessly around the sax. It also has the
added feature of a pearl encased LH thumb rest, useful to stop your thumb
slipping. The tone is rich, smooth and
diverse with a dark edge to it and the gold plating adds definitive clarity.
It's punchy,
up front and damn funky...bring it on Maceo! With a huge bore (the largest
I've played) and a tapered crook it has immense power and
projection, a better flow of air and is by far one of the most dynamic saxes I've
come across. From sotto voce to fortissimo, hey, no problem! Finally,
the intonation on this sax is outstanding, one of the best and as good as the
Yamaha Custom. No need to worry about the common
C/C# problems, this sax hits them on the nose. Even sub-tone was easy to get in tune;
absolutely fantastic! So, this is surely one of Italy's
greatest secrets, and like all great Italian exports; pizza, pasta and Pavarotti,
it gives your chops something to chew on and it really sings. Questo sassofone
gioca come un magnifico!!! From: Dave
